Electrical Heat Tracers

SLSR ( Self Limiting, Self Resetting ) type tracers are used to maintain temperature of pipe line carrying any kind of fluid. These are mainly used for fluids like LPG, Butane, Propane, FO, HFO, Vegetable Oil, Bitumen etc.

SLSR tracers are installed at the bottom of pipe line. The entire length of pipe line is covered by tracers. These tracers measure temperature at every point of pipe line. It will inject heat only where ever required. If the temperature exceeds the required level, anywhere in the pipeline, that particular spot will be de-energized. This aspect of SLSR tracers make it absolutely safe. No point in entire length of pipeline will ever exceed required temperature. This totally eliminates possibility of accident

Heating compound of SLSR tracers are made of specially developed polymers. These polymers are mixed in a core. This mixing is effected with the help of Cross Linking by way of Radiation Process.

Positive Temperature Coefficient  Technology of this core is what makes SLSR tracers, the most suitable and safe for heat compensation of pipe line.

This core materials are in constant touch with pipeline. It expands as it heats due to heat of pipeline. In expanding, the graphite network is drawn thin, disrupting some electrical paths. As the heating and expansion continue, more paths are disrupted, the heat output falls off, and the system reaches a state of self controlled thermal stability.

If the ambient/pipe temperature drops, the core responds by cooling & contracting, this reconnects electrical paths, and produces more compensating heat.

This is the self regulating phenomenon. It occurs independently at each point along the pipeline. If a high temperature occurs next to a low temperature, each section of SLSR tracer will adjusts its heat output to its own local needs, just as though each section contains its own tiny built-in thermostat !

SLSR tracers have in-built controls. It cannot burn out. It can be cut to any desired length without effecting the heat output. Hence they are ultimately safe and reliable. This feature offers unconditional T-rating certification to SLSR tracers unlike conventional tracers.

Tracers not having SLSR features are also available. The conventional Tracers, apart from consuming high electrical power, are not at all safe. In the event of failure of thermostats ( which is very common ), there could be a very big accident. Since the pipe line carries highly explosive fluid, it is safer to installed proven SLSR type tracers. We are in the field of installing SLSR tracers since 1985.
